What does this indicator measure?
This indicator measures the regranting of funds by the Cultural Resources Council (CRC) in 2012.
Regranting is when the Cultural Resources Council (CRC) receives funding (primarily from government entities) and redistributes the funds to local organizations in the region, normally through a peer panel process. Regranting happens throughout the year depending upon the program. Decentralization Grants are funds provided by the NYS Council of the Arts that are regranted by the CRC to smaller arts organizations and artists for projects. The maximum grant awarded is $5,000. Arts Education Grants (art$TART) support creative teaching partnerships between schools (Pre-K through Grade 12) and arts organizations or individual artists. Individual Artist Grants are offered to artists in all disciplines (i.e. the visual, performing, literary and media arts) for carrying out creative projects that strengthen the connection between working artists and their community. Onondaga County funding is money provided by the county government and allocated by the CRC, currently, by using a base line of funding to an existing list of agencies that have been funded in the past.
