What does this indicator measure?

This indicator is a measure of the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) produced by several business sectors in the Syracuse Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), from 2006 to 2011.  GDP is the market value of all officially recognized final goods and services produced within a given period of time.  MSA’s are a geographic unit used by the census to capture economic “systems”.  They usually include one county with an urban core/city and some adjoining counties that conduct a lot of commerce with each other.
