What does this indicator measure?

This indicator measures the number of LEED certified buildings in several  similar, Upstate cities.  LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. LEED certification recognizes building projects that implement strategies for better environmental and health performance. Certifications are awarded through a rating system of ‘LEED Certified,’ ‘LEED Silver,’ ‘LEED Gold,’ and’ LEED Platinum.’
