What does this indicator measure?

This indicator shows the number of black, hispanic, and white children per ten thousand who were hospitalized for asthma from 2008 to 2010. According to the US Department of Health & Human Services, asthma is defined as a long-term, chronic inflammatory disease that blocks the free flow of oxygen to and from the lungs.
